Etiquette as a Patient/Receiver- Series 0: Definition of a Receiver/Patient

I was talking to another mentor of mine recently and he mentioned that because he was retiring, he was rejecting new patients and limiting his practice to some old patients that were his good regulars. This inspired me to write about this series because healers are not easy to come by, not to mention good ones. Because everyone of us has limited time on this planet, and healing work is very energy consuming. So we usually will invest in those patients or sometimes we call receivers that are considered ‘good’. Not to say healers and doctors discriminate and pick, but just that we can offer more to those that practice good etiquette in the healing partnership work. Put it in another way, from a patient or receiver perspective, how do you get into the good book priority list of a doctor or healer?

Now before I start giving you the tips, let’s get our footing right.

What is the definition of a receiver or patient? More specifically, what is the role of a patient or receiver?

Now there are 2 common misconceptions about being a receiver or patient:

Etiquette as a patient/Receiver

Misconception 1: Because the receiver or patient is paying, he is the Boss. The Doctor or Healer is the Servant.

A lot of people think that because they are paying to be healed or treated, they are the Bosses to the Doctor or Healer. And they make all kinds of requests, sometimes to the point of abuse, to the Doctor or Healer. And most of it all, they DEMAND to be healed, they DEMAND for premium attention, they DEMAND for a certain method the doctor or healer should use to heal them, they DEMAND for their favorite time and place for healing, they JUST DEMAND. (And we as sensitive intuitive energy workers, we know and pick up this demanding energy easily.)

Etiquette as a Receiver/patient

Misconception 2: The receiver or patient is the Victim, the Doctor or Healer is the God.

Another group of people will throw the responsibility of getting better to the Doctor or Healer totally, absolutely. They are helpless like babies and they don’t participate in the process of healing, DISEMPOWERing themselves fully, thinking that the Doctor or Healer will create life changing miracles overnight. And when they don’t recover, they sulk and blame.

Misconception 1 sees that the Receiver or Patient is on the higher pedestal above the Doctor or Healer while Misconception 2 sees the Receiver or Patient as on the Victimised lower level below the Doctor.

To me, both kinds of scenarios don’t work well for any healing work or recovery and these patients or receivers behaving in either of these ways tend to either not get better or give up on the healing or treatment easily, circling on their own suffering within their illnesses and issues.

In my practice and tribe, my receivers and patients are on the same level as me, no higher or lower as they are on a HEALING WORK PARTNERSHIP with me to get themselves better. I put in my effort to heal you and give you the advice while you respect the advice, follow them, work on them, be aware and reflect to me the changes on the healing or treatment journey together. And this group who understands their positioning and role in healing and recovery respond best to anything I give them.
