Interesting TCM Facts 101: Number of Acupoints Reflect Number of Days in a Year
To be specific, we are talking about the classical acupoints here. Classical because later on there are a lot of add-on acupoints by researchers and physicians and we name the new add-ons “extra or extraordinary acupoints”.
So the number of classical acupoints is 361, which is almost comparable to 365 days in a year.
I believe the message that ancient physicians and wise ancestors are trying to bring across is that the human body embodies the entire universe and that we are never detached from nature and cosmos. In fact the body reflects the universe and the universe reflects the body.
So it holds true to take good care of your body and your outer world will blossom too.
