It is one of the fortes in TCM and Acupuncture to treat skin diseases, of all sorts.

In Western Medicine, the best that it can offer is a one-method-apply-to-all strategy which involves burning the skin thin and suppressing the itch and irritation that arise from the skin lesions. Steroid creams and steroid injections or pills are the so-called solution to silence the discomfort from the skin diseases.

In TCM and Acupuncture, we take the time and effort to find out the reason for the skin disease to arise. And then go right into the core of the issue and offer natural methods that calm the skin disease down.

So what are some of the skin diseases or conditions that TCM and Acupuncture can treat, with great effectiveness without burning the skin or suppressing the symptoms only.

Eczema

The scientific name of eczema is atopic dermatitis. It is a condition in which patches of skin become inflamed, itchy, cracked and rough. Typically, eczema occurs in the creases of skin, which differentiate it from skin rashes.

Rashes

Rashes are similar to eczema, having to have the skin to be red, painful, inflamed, itchy, swollen as well. But timing, location and symptoms of the two conditions will differentiate them.

Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a skin disorder that makes the skin develops into bumpy red patches covered with white scales. An autoimmune disorder, patients find cure in TCM and Acupuncture, not suppression.

Rosacea

A chronic skin disease that include facial flushing, redness, skin dryness and skin sensitivity. It can go through cycle of fading and relapse and triggered by sun, stress, spicy foods, alcohol. TCM and Acupuncture treat that with ease.

Acne

Acne is breakouts on the skin that composed of blackheads, whiteheads, pimples or deep, painful cysts and nodules. TCM and Acupuncture treat acne of any age and with great effectiveness, without thinning the skin with acid peels, laser or chemicals and steroids.

Contact dermatitis

Skin is itchy, red, scaly and raw and appears hours to days after contact with allergen. TCM and Acupuncture treats in a way that one’s skin becomes healthy enough to not flare even with contact with allergen.

Ringworm

Skin has circular-shaped scaly rashes with raised border and is itchy. TCM and Acupuncture resolves that easily through clearing the infection.

Hives

Hives appear as itchy, raised welts that occur after exposure to an allergen. I have written another blog about this and science has even showed that acupuncture IS effective in treating hives, which can be coming from internal health weakness.

Lupus

Lupus is an autoimmune disease that include fatigue, headaches, fever, swollen or painful joints. The typical presentation of lupus is a warm, red rash that spreads across the cheeks and bridge of the nose like butterfly wings and worsens in the sun. And TCM and Acupuncture helps and treats that.

Chickenpox

This skin condition is due to the varicella-zoster virus and it is contagious and appears as clusters of itchy, red, fluid filled blisters. TCM and Acupuncture treats and helps one recover from chickenpox without having the condition to drag over long periods of time.

Shingles

Shingles is caused by the varicella-zoster virus — the same virus that causes chickenpox. After you've had chickenpox, the virus lies inactive in nerve tissue near your spinal cord and brain. Years later, the virus may reactivate as shingles. Although shingles can occur anywhere on your body, it most often appears as a single stripe of blisters that wraps around either the left or the right side of your torso. Its typical characteristic is extreme pain. TCM and Acupuncture help treat shingles fast.

Wrinkles and Cellulites

Wrinkles and cellulites appear due to dryness of skin and aesthetically it ages a person’s look on the face and body. TCM and Acupuncture tightens and uplifts the skin naturally together with a whole list of internal health benefits.

Oily, Dry or Combination skin

Oily, dry or combination skin appears to be an aesthetic issue but it is in fact highly linked to internal health balance. TCM and Acupuncture treats the internal and balance the external skin to give it a healthy, radiant glow ultimately.
