Inner Practice: Try Something New
Sometimes we do get burn out. It is a feeling like you have tonnes of to-dos piling onto you and before you could get your hands on this pile, the next pile comes raining down. When that happens, sometimes we freeze, not knowing even where or what to start. The word to describe this feeling is ‘overwhelmed’.
Sometimes we do get burn out. Not by the workload but by the repetition of the packed routines, day in day out. The inspiration dries and the fire dwindles as the spark dulls.
Sometimes we do get burn out. Not just for work, not just within ourselves but even in interpersonal relationships.
What do you do when you are burnt out? Do you suck it up and bite it through? Do you stop dead in your tracks? Do you turn away and escape? Do you go find comfort through your old indulgences?
For me I was going through my old usual survival escape plans when a voice within me said, “Go try something new.”
So here I am, writing to you our love notes on an unusual random day of the week, before I venture into my new small explorations and mini ‘adventures’.
In Fengshui, one school says move 27 things in the space to break or activate the energy. In my somatic yoga practice, we practice non linearity to develop courage and no fear. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, I use needles, herbs, cups and all my witchy ways to break blockages and redirect energy for smooth flow to return.
So step out of your usual routines. Do something different. Start small. But start.
