TCM Basics 101: TCM Body Clock Spleen 9am - 11am

After getting all the necessary fuel into the system, what is then up next?

9am to 11am – Spleen Time

Organs related: Spleen. Now a lot of people will ask what is Spleen in TCM? It’s a whole big different topic for explaining about the difference between Spleen and Stomach. But the gist of it is basically, Spleen is for absorption of the broken down food from the Stomach and transform it into energy. Yes, you may then start to argue that Spleen in Western Medicine is to clear the dead RBC etc etc. Yes, that is part of it. But Spleen in TCM encompasses a wider range of functions because it takes in functional and energetic aspects of an organ.

In Chinese, it’s called: 胃主腐熟水谷 (break down the food),脾主运化 (absorption and transformation of food)。

What you should do: Work and be active!

Interesting fact: The Spleen is associated with mental powers, support metabolism, and is responsible for converting nutrients into energy. So go get physically and mentally active, get creative and allow energy to transform to reality.
