All you need to know about Pelvic Floor and its Dysfunction IV: Reasons for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction
Here are some of the reasons for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction:
Pregnancy
Ongoing constipation and straining to empty the bowels
Heavy lifting (e.g. at work or the gym)
Chronic cough or sneeze (e.g. due to asthma, smoking or hayfever)
Previous injury to the pelvic region (e.g. a fall, surgery or pelvic radiotherapy)
In our current society today, the tantamount amount of daily stress can lead to the continual upliftment of pelvic muscles to lift off the energy for ‘push and go’ rather than ‘allowing and flow’.
The constant need for upliftment and pushing ahead comes from the strain put on the pelvic floor muscles and by repeating that action on a daily basis can overwork the muscles, eventually resulting in their dysfunction.
The pelvic floor muscles are tensed and overworked, hence leading to Pelvic Floor Dysfunction.
