Inner Practice: Half
We are into the Summer Solstice solar term now and in astrological terms, the Summer Solstice marks the beginning of Summer. It also marks the half point of the year.
Half is a beautiful concept.
It is the key concept for the workings of the universe and everything in it.
Quoting a chapter The World is Half and Half in my Inner Practice Book 1:
“The world we are in is half and half.
Half day, half night.
Half bright, half dark.
Half beautiful, half ugly.
Half yin, half yang.
Half land, half sea.
Half good people, half bad people.
Half poor, half rich.
And the list goes on.
And if you only desire and accept the good, the kind, the positive, the bright, the beautiful, you only own half the world.
But if your heart is truly open and accepting to both halves of the world, you own the whole world.
That is the true noble heart.”
Half gives rise to Yin and Yang.
Half gives rise to differentiation and comparison.
Half is Bright.
Half gives rise to Life.
Half creates the World.
Half moves the World.
If you are able to transcend the concept of Half, you are the World and the World is you.
Half is Dark.
Half is reality.
Half is wake up call.
With half the year of 2024 already gone, it is time to take stock with what you have done this year for the betterment of yourself, others and this world.
And for many of us, a kind reminder that half of our lives has in fact passed by.
So what have you done
For yourself
For others
For this world
At
Or beyond
This half point mark?
