Coffee has a long history as a ritual and medicinal beverage.

Coffee can be burnt as an incense. During rituals the coffee grounds are sprinkled and blended onto a smoldering coal disk to release the earthy aroma. This method is used to enhance rituals related to honoring ancestors and relieve nightmares.

A coffee bath is also used to help remove unwanted or negative energy.

Coffee grounds are also used to be interpreted in divinations.
