Fishermen will offer coconuts to the sea for good luck and successful fishing. The Hindu goddess of well-being and wealth, Lakshmi, is often depicted holding a coconut.

Coconut is believed to have a cleansing power.

Coconut is believed to have powers to seal one’s destiny and protect it from the attack of evil people.

Coconut also has the power of protecting one from spiritual attacks. It is believed that the mere presence of the coconut tree in the house banishes evil spirits.
