In the Middle Ages, Sage was known as Salvia salvatrix, which means “sage the savior” and it was used in a blend of herbs used to ward off plague.
In ancient Egypt, sage was used as a woman’s fertility drug.
Since ancient times, sage has been used to ward off evil and snakebites. Sage is also a symbol for wisdom, virtue and immortality.
